Tuesday, January 20, 2009:United Airlines has just announced its intention to offer wireless internet service son Premium Service flights between New York (JFK) and the Californian airports of Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Premium Service (p.s) is a special range of Boeing 757 aircraft which only operate JFKLAX and JFKSFO, flown in the three classes of Premium Economy, Business and First.? Premium Service flies 72 less passengers than the usual B757s.
Using Aircells Gogo inflight internet service, passengers on selected p.s. flights will now be able to use Wi-Fi service on board for a flat fee of US$12.95.
We are investing in products and services that are most important to our customers, and having Wi-Fi access on board is something that they have told us is key to making their flights more productive and enjoyable, said Dennis Cary, United Airlines SVP and Chief Customer Officer.
Aircells Gogo service will be installed in 13 United Airlines Premium Service B757s.
