September 19, 2007: From September 19, 2007, customers visiting Japan Airlines’ Japan website will be able to link through to Expedia Japan for hotel reservations. Launched on November 29 2006, Expedia Japan’s Japanese-language hotel booking site now contains detailed information on over 34,000 hotels in more than 140 countries worldwide, ideal for JAL passengers based in Japan planning a trip overseas. Expedia has its own travel specialists who visit the hotels listed on the site to ensure descriptions are accurate and up-to-date. The attractive easy-to-use site has 360 virtual tours, high-quality pictures and user opinions, so customers can find out exactly what each hotel is like before making a booking. JAL and Expedia Japan will conduct a special promotional campaign in Japan from September 19 until the end of December 2007. During the campaign period, everyone who connects through jal.co.jp to make a hotel booking at expedia.co.jp will receive 100 bonus miles from JAL Mileage Bank, JAL’s frequent flyer program. A total 50 people who have made reservations during the campaign period in the same way will be selected at random, and each will be presented with Expedia gift coupons worth 20,000 yen. JAL, Japan and Asia’s largest airline, already has similar tie-ups with four other online hotel booking websites which offer customers a choice of 20,000 hotels located outside of Japan. With the addition of the Expedia Japan site the hotel selection will increase to over 34,000.
