Australian online travel service Webjet has shared that its travel planning software Planitonearth has officially moved out of its initial Beta release phase and turned into full live operation. (7/27/2007)As part of going live, all Webjet customers who book flights online will now have their trip automatically plotted on Planitonearth’s Trip Map which is powered by Google Maps. Webjet’s CEO, Richard Noon said: “The Trip Map has proven to be one of the most eye catching and popular features of Planitonearth so we’ve decided to automatically include it in all our flight booking confirmations. Without having to do anything more than click on a link in their confirmation email, our customers can see their domestic or international flights plotted on Google Maps.” He added: “Operating Planitonearth as a Beta release over the past few months has given us the opportunity to add and tune features and receive valuable customer feedback which can be fed into future releases. The take-up so far has been excellent and we are confident that by providing the Trip Map to all our flight customers we will dramatically propel usage of Planitonearth even further.” The company has also launched a new advertising campaign under the slogan Experience the Wonder. The multimedia campaign, which retains the iconic Webjet mouse, associates the brand with the wonders of the world through evocative imagery and links these wonders to the special features of Webjet’s booking site. The company believes this new campaign will further enhance Webjet’s leadership position in Internet travel distribution in Australia
